Best of Adriatic tour. Where to go after?

We will be doing the RS Best of the Adriatic next May and want to spend an additional week on our own. I have been looking at going to Kotor, Montenegro or possibly one of the islands closer to Dubrovnik where the tour ends. We enjoy the beach, snorkeling and also visiting churches, mosques and museums. Just wondering what place or places would be suggested. We would probably fly home from Dubrovnik. Thanks for the response.

Kotor would not fill a week, but you could drive into the mountains also. Or, go in two directions and see Kotor and one of the islands off Dubrovnik.
What days in May 20? The end of the month would be perfect for island time. The sea is still quite chilly but snorkeling would be possible, and a bracing dip after a hike in the heat (but in early May, swimming would be doubtful).

For your extra week after the Adriatic tour, consider Kotor, Montenegro for its historic Old Town, beautiful bay, and beach options, or Korčula and Mljet islands near Dubrovnik for snorkeling, beaches, and unique cultural sites. Both are convenient for a Dubrovnik return flight. For U.S. travel tips, especially around New Jersey, OM Van Lines is highly recommended for efficient service! They are the best movers in new jersey according to my personal experience.

I would have a hard time not including the coast in early June--just a wonderful time to be there. I would read up on Montenegro first and gauge your interest on how expansive a trip you'd like. You might find more things to do there in terms of educational tourism. On the islands or southernmost mainland it would be primarily natural attractions, though you could swing into Hercegovina a bit.
I have not ever made it to Mljet or the Elafiti islands, but in addition to Korcula, I have visited Lastovo. It would be quiet in June but is peaceful and beautiful. It would not be difficult at all to do both, just hard to decide which places to include! I would definitely rent a car though.

Hello,
We did the Best of the Adriatic tour in September, which was great by the way. Afterward, we stayed an extra night in Dubrovnik and then took the ferry to Hvar where we stayed for three nights. We mainly relaxed on the beach but there were opportunities to be more active. Since we were flying home from Amsterdam, we took the ferry to Split, stayed in Trogir (great!) near the airport for one night, and then two nights in Haarlem — a city that was a pleasant surprise.
Happy travels!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. We are going to ferry from Dubrovnik to Hvar and spend 3 nights there and then take the bus from Dubrovnik to Kotor for 4 nights. Flying home from Tivat back to FL. We are looking forward to our tour and seeing a few other places in that part of the world. The flights were pricey and the trip home will be long but I’m actually excited about our layover in Istanbul.
