best free map app for phone

what kind of phone?

Do you want a static map or will you have data and gps and want it for navigation?

Pixil pro 9- static maps would be ok.

Are you looking for content or use that is different than what Google and Apple Maps provide?

I have been all over Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania and Google did everything it needed to do and with a pretty good degree of "how long" accuracy, even traffic and maintenance updates on the major routes. Then the convenience of, maybe we should stop and eat, one click to restaurants along the route, another click to the overview/open time/menu and maybe a third click to their web page. It hard to beat.

But if you find something that does more or better, please do post it.
