Beaches near Split - Trogir

Are there nice beaches in the area between Split and Trogir that can be enjoyed in the summer months? Or should we plan a day trip to Hvar to enjoy a beach day?

It depends, on what kind of beach you want (idyllic vs. urban, rock vs. pebble, etc.), amount of time you have, etc.
A city beach is something I really don't leave the house for, but if you have kids needing a swim day, you might not be as particular.
With a bit more flexibility in time, going to a beach on in island will be much more of an event. You can consider Brac as well as Hvar. Also, if staying in Trogir, you can take day trips to two small island with nice beaches--Drvenik Mali and Veli.

Most beaches will be rocky, with pebbles. Depending what you are looking for, we had two great day on the islands just off Hvar town (Paklinski Otoci and Otok Marinkovac).

One day we took the ferry/boat over and hiked, relaxing in some of the coves.

The other, we rented a small motorboat and went around the islands, pulling into coves, swimming and snorkeling.

Fair warning, one of the islands was used mostly for nude sunbathing by Germans and Eastern Europeans.

Bacvice Beach is a really nice sandy beach right in Split with turquoise water, showers, a bar and a beach club. Bacvice beach is just a 15-minute walk from Diocletian’s Palace.
