Anniversary Trip to Croatia - Where to Stay

My husband and I booked a last-minute trip to Croatia this May for our 10th anniversary. We found a good airfare deal we couldn't pass up. We will be spending 1 week in southern Croatia the first week of May. We typically prefer family-owned/pension style stays. We have spent the last several years staying in AirBnBs because we usually travel with our young children. So we are hoping to find somewhere special, hotel/B&B style, to stay while in Dubrovnik. We aren't necessarily looking for fancy but something that feels special, ideally with a good view of the sea. When I google, I keep finding the same 5-6 properties that look amazing but are very expensive. I'm hoping to stay in a budget of ~$200/night. I think we want to stay walking-distance from Old Town but I am not committed to a certain area at this time. Thank you for any tips!

Where have you searched?
I use Booking.com first, then i branch out if I don't find what I am looking for there.
The tourist office used to have listings, but I see those days are over, so I'd next check the usual (AirBnb, VRBO, etc.). Are you visiting somewhere aside from Dubrovnik? You will find prices lower elsewhere, so you could balance out a splashy hotel stay there with a private apartment elsewhere.

Definately checkbooking.com because most the small B&B properties inside the old town don’t have enough rooms to have their own website. We have stayed at
Dubrovnik Gardens Apartments
bed+breakfast Andio
Pavisa Apartments

There is a Hilton just outside the Pile Gate but it might be above your budget, but check. It is a renovated old world hotel, lovely.
