Airport Shuttle to and from Split

Hi all, we're looking for recommendations for airport shuttles in Split. Private car preferred. Public transport is not an option due to mobility issues.
Thanks in advance!

GoOpti is a Slovenian company based in Ljubljana - not really practical for Split unless they are taking you to Slovenia (a long ride).

Uber operates in Croatia, though I didn't use them. (Tried to use them on Vis last October, but their app lied: kept saying drivers were available - contacting now, please wait! - but none were ever available.) I'd guess they are more reliable on the mainland.

I simply took the Pleso prijevoz direct airport bus from the airport into Split where I was staying, but perhaps that won't work here.

Try going through Booking.com. We’ve booked various transfers through them.
About Welcomepickups.com - we booked them in January for an airport pickup in Paris to our hotel for this past Saturday. The day before our flight out, our flight was cancelled and we were put on a flight one hour later, same airport - CDG. We couldn’t get through on their website to let them know and couldn’t message the driver - wouldn’t go through either but We did manage to change our flight info. A new driver ‘what apped’ us that all was okay. Right before we got on our flight the office emailed us that they had no driver and we would receive a credit for the amount - you had to prepay. We took a taxi to our hotel. We then ordered a car to take us to Gare du Nord for our Eurostar trip. We would have taken the train but I didn’t want to waste the credit. Of course, the price is about 30€ less than our credit.
This was our first time using them. We usually use any service where we pay the driver directly. This time we prepaid. Rookie mistake on our part.
This is just an FYI. Not saying they aren’t good, but we won’t use them again.

Split Airport

Split is home to Croatia’s second-biggest airport hub, although most of its traffic occurs during the summer. From April to October, the number of available nonstop destinations from Split increases exponentially. With Split’s increasing popularity, more and more small European carriers are offering special fares to regional airports throughout Europe, even during the off-season.

In this post, we cover:

Croatia Airlines airport bus
The best option for inexpensive transfers between the city center and the airport is the Croatia Airlines bus. The timetable corresponds with arrivals and departures for Croatia Airlines but is open to everyone. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes.

The cost is 8 euros per person each way. Tickets can be purchased on the bus in cash.

The bus picks up/drops off outside Arrivals at the airport. To get to the bus, exit the airport from Baggage Claim and walk to the right where the buses are lined up. The bus will then make short stops, by request, along the route to the main bus station in Split. The final destination is Autobusni Kolodvor in Split just across from the port and next to the train station in the city center.

From the bus station, you can then pick up

Diocletian’s Palace is only a 5-minute walk. Taxis also line up outside the train station.

You may also take the local Promet Split bus to and from the airport. The bus is number 37. It picks up/drops off right in front of the airport on the main road.

The cost for one way is 4 euros and you can buy a ticket on the bus from the driver in cash.

You can find timetables here.

Pre-arranged transfers
If you want a pre-arranged transfer to or from the airport, please contact us using the below form. We can arrange a transfer for a flat rate of 27 euros for one-way to or from the airport with the trusted driver that we use for our own travels.

Taxi service
Taxis pick up just outside baggage claim at the curb. Be sure to pick a registered taxi with a yellow sign on top of the car that has a meter. Registered taxis will have all of their licensing information displayed. A taxi to the center of Split will cost around 50 euros, depending on traffic and where you are going in Split. If you don’t get a registered taxi, be sure to set an agreed price before leaving the airport.

You can also use Uber, which has a flat rate of 30 euros for a ride between the airport and the city of Split. Cammeo and Bolt are two other Uber-like companies with apps.

Rental cars
Just outside Arrivals, there are a dozen rental car agencies from all over the world. During peak season, it is highly recommended that you reserve a car in advance of your arrival.

After you arrive in Split
If you want to take public transportation after arriving in the city of Split, you may use the bus system called Promet. [Read: Promet – Split’s bus system]
