Visiting mid September looking for recommendations in these area for my husband and I. Close to all of the attractions in these area. Medium prices appt with a good outlook. Thanks in advance

In Split, I stayed at Base Rooms within the walls of Diocletian's Palace. Room was nice and reasonably priced, but very noisy until late on Friday and Saturday evenings (OK other evenings). In Dubrovnik, I stayed at Apartments Benussi, which is a short slightly-uphill walk from the Pile Gate. My efficiency room was very nice and very quiet. Not familiar with Piltivik - did you mean Plitvice? If so, I've stayed twice at Hotel Jezero in the park and liked it.

In Split, I stayed at Golden Gate Rooms I think it was called, inside the palace and actually inside one of the walls, by the Golden Gate entrance (obviously). It was very cool and the location was perfect. In Dubrovnik, I stayed in Apartments Pavisa, which was recommended in Rick's book. It was by Buza Gate, so a bit of a climb but easy to get in and out with luggage if you came in through Buza. It had a little efficiency kitchen too.

If you mean Plitvice, we stayed at Hotel Degenija, and like it very much.
