We are planning a 3 week trip to Croatia in late August. We will arrive in Rovinj (4 nights), Plitvice (1 night), Zadar (1 night), Split (2 nights) and then we have 7 days to tour some islands before arriving in Dubrovnik (5 or 6 nights) before flying to Rome. We are considering a 7 day cycle sail trip to get us from Split to Dubrovnik. Does anyone have any experience with a cycle trip?
Did this in 2018. Loved it. We used Meridien Ten. https://www.meridienten.com/
Spendy for a guided tour, but it was all fabulous. 5 stars in our book. Check them out on Trip Advisor.
You could do a self-guided trip as an alternative, perhaps, which they do organize for people. There are other operators who we saw on the road as well.
One bit of advice, those islands are hilly and you could have as much as 1500 feet to 3000 feet in elevation changes along the way in a given day, so you may want to consider e-bikes depending on your age, fitness, conditioning and experience.
My wife and I did a bike/ sail vacation with VBT last June. I think it might be what you're looking for. We embarked on the boat in Split and eventually biked the beautiful islands of Hvar, Korcula, Brac, and Vis, There was an add-on to Dubrovnik at the end. The boat held 23 riders with 8 crew. Sleeping accommodations were somewhat rustic, but the food was excellent. VBT offers both touring and e-bikes, and as the islands are hilly, 20 of the 23 went electric. The bikes were brand new. We rode both in the morning and afternoon with rides averaging 12-15 miles. The 2 VBT guides (Nevin and Mario) did a fantastic job. Zivjeli (Cheers!)
