Hi All! My husband and I will be in Croatia/Slovenia for 12 days and are planning 3 on the islands. Which one/two do u suggest? Can't decide if staying put on one is better or experiencing two more fun. Want a great view, good food and a few fun activities.Love feedback on hotels too, will be there mid May. Thank you!
Hvar or Korcula would be my top picks. Hvar for views and one of the best meals I have had in my life, and Korcula for the old town and many restaurants.
Just pick one island with only 3 nights available. Most decent accommodation has a 3-4 night minimum booking on the islands.
When are you travelling? Presumably summertime? Are you in the north or south of the country?
If you are in the south - Vis if you want a peaceful time. Stari Grad on Hvar for a great mix of good food and coast and countryside. Korcula for history.
Much of the accommodation is apartments/villas rather than hotels. Check out booking.com and Airbnb.
Slovenia and Croatia in 12 days, along with a 3-day island stay? Brace yourself for a very fast-paced trip.
Where are you coming from and where will you be going after the island stay? The islands are spread out all along the Croatian coast, some 300 miles north to south, so some may be more accessible than others depending on your itinerary. Furthermore, mid-May is still very much off-season and the water will have just become warm enough to comfortably swim in. This will noticeably affect the availability of accommodation, restaurants and activities on the islands.
My suggestion would be Korcula. However, keep in mind that you probably won't have a full three days as you'll have to allow time for travel there and back. Are you travelling via rental car or other means?
Here are some hotels to consider....

There are lots of nice smaller restaurants. Ask the hotel staff for recommendations.
