Sunny Beach - a good choice for an Eurovision fan?

Hello, as you probably know Burgas will host the ESC in 2027.
As you can imagine the hotel and guesthouse prices in Burgas have gone crazy, some are even 1000 EUR / night.

Would you say Sunny Beach is a good alternative to stay? Even with taking many buses back and forth between SB and Burgas it would be far cheaper to stay there than in Burgas proper.

SB being more of a resort for all I expect beach bars and discos there to at least try to capitalize on the ESC crazy with themed nights and parties. Would it be a better choice than the more family-oriented, sleeper resorts like Pomorie, Nessebar and Sozopol?

What I'm after is: a place with a beach where I can stumble upon some ESC parties and mingle with fellow Eurovision fans for a saner hotel price than the rip off galore in Burgas. :D

What would you say?

I would say if the intent is Eurovision, yes. I phrase it that way because there is nothing culturally rewarding but it was constructed for somewhat affluent (russian) tourists and if tgey hsve kept it in good repair should serve tge purpose well, but its been almost 10 years since i was last there. All the support services will be there too. Let me know what you find as its an attractive idea.

For somewhere with a bit more culture and history to it, Nessebar would attract me more, personally being a UNESCO world heritage city.
Having said that I know someone in the UK who goes to Sunny Beach once or twice a year, and has done for many years.

He loves it (obviously) for the sun, beach and relaxation (and it is dirt cheap apparently, which always helps). He's not really a disco type of person!

For holiday I love Nessebar, but tge OP is looking for affordable during Eurovisio. OP if you find something i can afford on Nessebar, good chsnce I will be there too. Probably in my world top 10 list.

Thanks for your replies. As I often do when I can't decide between two very close locations I booked both! :)

First, I will spend a few nights in Nessebar to get my history fix and then a few in Sunny Beach to get my sandy beach vacay fix and watch the Eurovision concerts in some bar as well as hop on the buses to Burgas to visit some of the day ESC-themed cultural events.

I hope but don't really count on the local authorities to extend the bus services between SB and Burgas and I will most likely keep my car parked at home in Sofia. If anyone wonders about my hotel in Nessebar it's called Family Hotel Dreams.

I would consider looking at the towns to the south of Burgas like Sozopol, unless you want the party atmosphere of Sunny Beach. (Which I assume is quite possibly what you want!) But the towns south of Burgas are very nice. We did find that the beaches in Sozopol had beach side bars and there was a bit of a party atmosphere, not much, but I bet it's more during ESC.

My friend in the UK who goes to Sunny Beach is at the Hotel Martinez in Sozopol right now, and is very happy with it.
And there is a half hourly bus into Burgas - admittedly last back at 8pm.
