I'm booked on Get Your Guide for a trip to Rila Lakes and the Monastery on May 15 but I'm concerned there may be more snow than I'm expecting and I'm not packing winter hiking boots for just one excursion. Can anyone kindly advise me about the amount of snow on the trail in early May and also if the chairlift will be operating (i've read different information on line about this ). Thanks.

Although the lakes are quite a bit colder. -2 in the morning in the near forecast. What I have read is snow is possible till mid-June.
