My husband and I are staying in Sofia for 6 days following our Best of Bulgaria tour in September. Does anyone have suggestions for areas not visited on the tour? For two of the days we are contemplating taking 9- 10 hour private tours - one to Melnick or Belogradchick. There is also one across the Serbian border to Nis. Any suggestions?

Nis is a lovey town. I spent several days there in September 2021 before a tour of the Balkans that started in Belgrade.
