Any idea why Rick Steves is only offering three Bulgaria trips in 2027? Such a lovely country, with phenomenal people! We were hoping to go in mid/late September.

Probably there is not enough demand. Sometimes they add more trips if trips fill up but none of the three are currently sold out.

Check out Road Scholar. They have a Bulgaria tour with a number of fall 2027 departures. We did their similar Romania tour last fall and liked it a lot. They schedule their Romania and Bulgaria tours to make it easy for customers to do them both back to back (although you certainly don’t have to do that) and some on our tour had done Bulgaria and said it was good.
