I am looking for a a solid insurance package. We are on the Basque Tour then going to England to explore the Cotswolds. Does anyone have a recommendation?
This question is asked a lot. Using the search feature, narrow it down to forum and newer than six months, here’s that link https://search.ricksteves.com/?button=&date_range=6m&filter=Travel+Forum&query=Trip+insurance&utf8=%E2%9C%93
Have you researched using insuremytrip or squaremouth? Insurance that works for me may not work for you. These websites let you narrow down to find the coverage you want.
Enjoy your trip!
hey hey pcuhl1954
totally agree with Horsewoofie. this question seems to come up every week, not one answer/package fits you.
click her link, put in all your info and read the fine print of what is best for you.
enjoy the tour and have fun. my best friend and her family are french basque from near saint jean pied de port. families were sheep herders out in the beautiful countrysides/small villages.

PLEASE define "solid insurance package" -- trip interruption? medical ? cancel for any reason? car rental, etc. flight? evacuation? Help us out.
Frank - very good question. I should have said - "solid insurance provider" - as I imagine they would have various options for the levels of insurance you point out.
Tanks to all for your responses. Very helpful.
I have used squaremouth.com several times. I am not looking to cover the cost of my trip, so I answer "no" to the "cancellation coverage" question. I'm just looking for good medical and evacuation coverage, in the case of a medical emergency that would be extremely expensive abroad. You will find that very good coverage for medical coverage is very reasonably priced. You can filter by what is most important to you. I buy a simple policy for every international trip my husband and I take, and the cost typically ranges from $25-$125 for a policy that covers us both, depending on the length of the trip. For our upcoming trip to Sicily in June for 3 weeks, our policy cost $74.
