Safely Carrying Valuables while wearing a Dress

First, I wasn't sure where on the forums to ask this question! This may be the wrong place.
Second, I know I am probably seriously overthinking this. I am trying to figure out what to wear under a dress for storage of valuable items from Marco Polo airport to the hotel. Something that isn't bulky or uncomfortable, and that I can put on in the ladies room.

I wear a dress while traveling----bottom line, I'm so much more comfortable. And I usually don't worry about arriving in Europe jet-lagged and exhausted, because we arrange for private transportation from the airport to our hotel. I just put CC's, PP, and money into my travel purse, fasten the zippers together, and hug it close until we get to the hotel to then re-arrange stuff.

But Venice is a whole different thing! No taxi to the front door, of course! We plan on the alilaguna boat bus, which gets us very close to our hotel. Any suggestions as to "deep storage" under a dress?

I think a properly worn money belt would work as we believe the belt should be worn high in the small of the back. If you wear in front over the stomach it creates a visible bump.

You can get bike shorts with pockets. Costco had, may still have, two pairs for about $13, brand was Janzen. There is a company I've seen online call Thigh Society and they sell a bike short, called their cargo style, with pockets. A friend told me that Walmart had a similar product, I think in the teen sizes.

There are also money belts worn around the neck that may work better than the one worn around the waist. The RS shop has some.

Since your travel purse (which I assume is crossbody) allows you to fasten the zippers together, would a small travel padlock on it work? That's what I always do with my Baggalini crossbody.

Assuming your dress is neither tight fitting, nor low cut, then either a money belt or a neck wallet would work.

If your dress is not fitted and loose around the waist, a Stashbandz may work for you. Unlike a regular money belt, Stashbandz has four pockets evenly spaced around the stretchy “belt”. That should eliminate the unsightly bulk. I wear a Stashbandz in Europe but not dresses.

Eagle Creek has a silk undercover neck wallet that I just used on a trip and it was comfortable and functional. The neck strap ( pink or black) is the width of a bra strap, and never peaked out. The silk feels great against the skin, and the adjustment ring is very small. I carried my passport, extra cash, and all credit cards in it.
Since I've been using Tap Pay, attached to my Apple Wallet, I don't keep a credit card outside of my body.
I don't carry a purse. I have a Bandolier phone case which also has a neck strap. The style of Bandolier I use has a side snap pocket in which I carry a small amount of cash and a portable phone charger battery.

I also have an infinity neck scarf with a "secret" zipper pocket. I haven't used this enough to decide if it works for me.

Hope you find something that works.

Depending on the depth of your cleavage, you can just stuff a credit card and any cash in your décolletage. This is my stash spot all the time at home when I go to the gym.

A neck wallet would keep the items accessible if you need them, like your passport to check into your hotel. A regular money belt would work, but you would t be able to remove items without a trip to the restroom.

So many helpful replies!
I completely forgot that I would need my passport at the hotel. Duh.....

Thank you. I find these forums to be so helpful and very nice in demeanor.

Stash spot. Your upper leg. Like a holster. Just above the knee. Easily accessible. Is there a leg wallet. Or you could just wear a thigh sleeve. Look that up on Amazon. It would hold CC, PP, and paper money.

I always wear a Stashbandz money belt for extra cash and credit/debit cards. But on travel days, I carry my passport in a zipped pocket in my Travelon purse. Easy access when I need it. On non-travel days, passport is in my money belt.

You say "we" which, IMO, requires less extreme vigilance. Split the items between you. You won't be stranded if the worse happens, which in reality is unlikely. That being said, your crossbody purse seems fine. You can lock the zippers as you say. I rarely wore/wear a money belt and it wasn't until I started reading Rick Steves way back when and traveling solo that I did. I would wear the leg wallet, but it hasn't worked for me in years. I wear a small, lockable with a clip, crossbody bag. That's the type I wear at home as well because they are so organized and small. When I get to my destination, I leave a credit and debit card with copies of docs in my suitcase. I always carry enough, including my passport, to turn on a dime and leave the country without having to get back to my hotel room.

My small bag for travels is an older, black and with smaller logo than this Pacsafe Tech bag, but it is essentially the same. I wear this with everything except when I need to take it off for security until I'm finished transporting myself. My mobile fits in this as well. It also is flat enough to wear under a blazer or such so unless your dress is skin tight it should work. It easily fits in my personal item or a medium purse if I need one later in my trip although I'm so used to wearing it, I usually just have it crossbody and visible. Otherwise, it is just my purse for my travels as well. Here's Nora Dunn with a review (but I had it first. LOL).

I did meet a woman who wore underpants with a front pocket in the center. She didn't show me LOL, but I've seen them online and that was her solution regardless of outer clothes. This seems to be awkward for security, however.

I once wore a waist money belt once...it fell off in the ladies room right away. Never will wear one again, or anything that can be untied with a clasp. I think most people actually just lose things, but that's just my opinion, and that's why I protect my things...from me.

I did recently buy a bra pocket to think about, but now I can't find it so I guess that was wrong. LOL

When I wear a dress, I wear a neck wallet on my shoulder so that the wallet is under my arm. I use a safety pin to attach cord to my bra strap.

I put on the little pouch after going through security, around my neck and crossbody, under my shirt or sweater, It doesn’t come off until I arrive at the hotel, except for retrieving a passport. Why would someone leave their valuables lying around even in the plane?

More and more the trend is to ditch slips and wear shorts under skirts. Bike shorts, shorts from Thigh Society, etc all fit the bill. Many come with pockets in them that can be used. Honestly, I use my cross body bag with the zippers that lock. I wear it in front of me.

I’ve done what Diane does for years. On my last trip I used a Stashbandz instead, after learning about it on this forum and I liked that as well.
