The description here says the Swiss Travel Pass includes free entry to 490 museums, but I cannot find a list. Is the coverage congruent with the regular Swiss Museum Pass?

And is Chateau du Chillon considered a "museum" for this Pass coverage?

In other words, if a museum says it has " free entry with Swiss Museum Pass", will our Swiss Travel Passes also get us in for free? Are they the same?
Why don't you go to the museum's website ticket info page. If it is accepted they should say. Chateau Chillon is accepted, but I note that the Kunsthaus museum in Zurich is not.
Yes, it's the same list that's linked from SBB. The PDF version comes out quite small. The actual STP that you carry reads, "inclusive of Swiss Museum Pass."

The main Art museum is called the Kunstmuseum and is listed (website: https://kunstmuseumbasel.ch/ ). The Fondation Beyeler (website: https://www.fondationbeyeler.ch/en/ ) is not in the list.

Lola, when we bought our STPs in 2013, the mail out came with a nice brochure that listed all the participating museums along with a beautifully designed and printed rail map. Old school, I know. But if you can’t find a readable file online, know that you will get a list with your passes.
