My husband and I just spent an hour trying to purchase our Paris Museum Passes online. The official Paris Museum Pass site kept rejecting our credit card, even though we called our bank to try to troubleshoot why the site rejected it. The last resort the bank’s customer service rep suggested was for her to input the cost of the passes from her end of the transaction. Still didn’t work! Now I plan to purchase our Paris Museum Passes when we arrive in Paris in 6 weeks. Can I reserve timed entry slots before I have the passes? Will I need a barcode from the pass in order to do this? I was hoping to purchase our passes in Paris and visit Sainte-Chapelle first thing the following morning.

when you go to the various websites to get your time slot, navigate to the appropriate free/PMP one, and when prompted for a PMP ##, just put a bunch of numbers, like 8 or 9 or 10 zeros, and that will be fine. They don't currently cross check those w the PMPs.

Got back from Paris a few weeks ago. Reserved my time slot for the Louve online, I went through the steps and I didn't need to submit any number online. I bought the Paris Museum Passes immediately after leaving customs at the information table at the airport.
