Money-Saving Travel Tips for Madrid and Spain

Here's an interesting short article from today's' New York Times. If you're interested in the Asturias region and the beautiful Picos de Europa consider staying the night at the Paradore Fuente De in Cantabria. Right across from the cable car that runs up to the top of the peak, lovely hiking in the area, a twisty fabulous drive through the gorge to get there with a lovely museum about the Picos along the way.

Looks like a lovely place, though Cantabria is not Asturias (where the main Picos are). Asturias is 60% goverment land, set aside as natural areas, hence its slogan "paraiso natural". The lack of tourists is the best part.
