Hello, I'm a US citizen flying to Spain with a long layover at Gatwick. I don't have any pounds with me and will need to get some money in order to buy food etc. Is there still a bank ATM in the south terminal that won't charge me insane fees or is it now just moneycorp, etc?
Thanks!
Unless you are planning on more time in the U.K. use credit cards, no need for cash. We spent time in Gatwick this summer. Everyplace takes cards. If your layover is really long consider booking a room in the Yotel south terminal. Modular rooms by the hour private bath. You can shower, nap.
None of the ATMs at Gatwick Airport itself charge any fee at all. Just decline any attempt for an ATM to charge you its own rate (aka dynamic currency conversion).
Just use a credit card n Gatwick. We charge anything we can on any international trip and get by with little cash made from ATM withdrawals.
Even vending machines take credit cards, I would do that instead of getting pounds.
