Pay attention to the ratings of the guidebooks. Go to Amazon if you need to, to see them. The ratings of many, if not most, recent Lonely Planet guidebooks have tumbled below 4.0, apparently as a result of the recent changes to the content. I recently bought several 2019 editions used on Amazon in order to get the more comprehensive books.
