Just curious, might make a difference, is this for a night or more before flying out? For a night or more on arrival before taking a train elsewhere, or just a stop on a longer trip?
In 2022, we stayed at Hotel Garda. Nothing swank, but nice and comfortable, and an easy walk (with luggage) from Milano Centrale. You can also see about using a Rick Steves discount if you book directly with the hotel.
Define budget.
colour me confused - Milano has several stations, none of them Termini. The main station in Milan is Milano Centrale.
Rome's main station is called Roma Termini.
I only find a legal firm in Milan called Termini.
Do you want around the main station in Milan, or around the main station in Rome, Termini, or is it something completely different?
Did you end up going to Milan in 2025? Your post from last year has two hotel recommendations.
I am looking to stay for at least approx. 3 nights by the Milano Termini during first week of Nov. 2026 . Was hoping to spend not more that 110 euros a night at most if at all possible.
Not looking to to stay at a hostel. Any suggestions on possible places to stay?
Thank you for any suggestions, feedback in advance.
To reiterate, there is no such place as Milano Termini. If you’re thinking that “termini” means “terminus” and is a word meaning railway station, an Italian equivalent to French “gare” or German “bahnhof”, it isn’t. Roma Termini station’s name comes from the nearby Roman baths, “thermae”, hence that’s what the neighborhood is called. It’s unique to Rome. Milan’s main station is Milano Stazione Centrale, like many other “stazione” because that does mean station in Italian, and “centrale” does mean central.
Assuming you mean near Milan Centrale rail station, I also stayed at Hotel Garda and found it fine for my needs. I paid 113 Euros for one night in fall 2024. At the time I booked, I had the option of a significant discount -- which I took -- by booking directly on the hotel website and choosing to pay cash. There was an atm a few doors away. As other responses note, we are not sure what/where you mean by "Termini."
Thanks for Hotel Garda suggestion.
Yes, Milan Centrale train station. Thanks for clarification.
Happy Travels.
