This travel set has been mentioned on this forum in the past. It is at the lowest price I've ever seen.

They probably won't last a lifetime but if you are looking for a two wheeled bag that is sized for most European airlines carry on limits--except the deep discounters--you might look into this.

U.S. Traveler Rio Expandable Upright

If I was back in the US and had a way of getting this, for $30 I'd buy the set in black just to give it a try.

Iceland Air is having their Black Friday sale now. we scored on tickets from Seattle for $548 each, which is the cheapest wee have ever gotten them.

I booked our hotel today, one of the Center Hotels, and they too were having a Black Friday sale, 40% off, so scored the hotel for $143 per night. We have stayed at this one several times and it is good, and the location is excellent.

Ha ha, Mary! I am taking a break from making a cake for tonight. Once I get started it is hard to stop!

But having said that, here is a nice little product. I bought one of these last year during Black Friday and really like it. It's handy because the default plug is the Europe one so you don't need an adapter for it when you're traveling in Europe. I use it at home as well, though, because it includes an American adapter. It has two USB-C ports, 2 USB-A ports and three regular outlets.

I just booked a reservation for Prague with the Black Friday deal on Booking. I don’t know which neighborhood I would like to end that trip in Rome so I didn’t find one that seemed like it was worth it, yet. I’ll be up in the Barberini metro vicinity earlier in the trip, so I want something different.

I never would've thought you could get a room that cheap in Iceland! 😲

By now I'm quite convinced that most hotels' Black Friday / Cyber sales are not really good deals.

Back in August I booked four different cancellable reservations with different hotel chains for Spring travel. I just checked their so-called 'Black Friday' sales, and after the 'HUGE' discount the prices ended up to be about the same or more expensive than my bookings. Only one of them saves me $50 for a one-week stay.

I think many hotels these days simply raise the prices weeks leading to the sales, to create an illusion you get a big saving.

Mary--That was the average, some days were as low as $136!

I just posted more details about this on the Transportation page, but here is a copy/paste of that.

Iceland Air often has sales, and the current one ends December 2nd and travel dates are through the end of March. I always look at their emails, but this one really panned out for us. Flying from Seattle, our flights are always on the higher end, but this time I was able to get r/t tickets booked for $548 each, Economy Standard. If you wan't to go Economy Light it is quite a bit cheaper, but you don't get a checked bag, etc. When I mentioned this deal to my husband, he said "book it!", as if I needed any encouragement;)

Another great deal for Iceland is that Center Hotels in Reykjavik are having their own Black Friday sale and rooms are 40% off. You must book before. Dec. 9th, but travel dates go to the end of May. This deal includes breakfast, early check in/late check out (if available) and a welcome drink. We have stayed at the Center Hotel's many times so knew this was a great deal and yes I booked it as well:)

You can also book a 30% discount on gift cards from Center Hotels that are good for 2 years. So you could purchase those now and then decide when you want to travel.
