Got an email the other day: If I buy 75,000 miles I get 75,000 extra miles. Total I would spend is $2625. Does this sound like a good deal?
**Just want to add that I posted same question a few months back but the deal wasn't as good then.

Might be a good deal, depending.
I just checked reward ticket for a round trip from LAX to FRA for May 6 to May 31 costing you 120,000 miles, total for 2 people.
The cost for cash would be $3100. So using miles would save $475 and leave you with 30,000 miles left over. That is for a nonstop flight operated by Lufthansa in Economy.
So if you have a specific itinerary, check it out and see if buying the miles saves you money.
Considering how difficult it is to get 2 seats with miles i would say no.
For $2600 2 travelers can get to europe, asia, or south america easily and have alot more
Flexibility than trying to use miles.
Unless you want to use your United miles for magazines or purchases other than tickets on United then that would probably be a good idea. If you have to use the United miles only for flying on United then I would certainly forget about it.
