Anyone who has maintained an Allianz annual plan: can you change (increase) the trip cancellation coverage amount ($5000/7500/10,000) before "renewal" and pay the difference; or only change coverage amount "at renewal"? Do you "renew" the same policy, or actually buy a new policy within your 7-day renewal window (for continuous coverage for pre-existing medical conditions)? Thanks for any tips!

I've had an annual Allianz policy for years.
Their customer service department is very good at answering questions. Why not just call them and get the right answer.
I do know that every year I get a new policy number so it's not a renewal but a start of a new policy.
I also get an email from the agent I originally bought the policy from (at Allianz) to set up a time to purchase the new policy. It's always prior to the expiration date and the new policy starts when the old policy expires.
