Travel from Dubrovnik to Mostar -NOT a day trip

Hello...we are going to Mostar from Dubrovnik, but not as the typical day trip that returns to Dubrovnik.
We'll stay in Mostar one night and then go to Sarajevo for several nights.
I've been reading about private drivers. (I don't think I want to book a prepackaged transfer tour for these transfers.)

Here are my questions:
-Do we have to know what side stops to take? Or will the driver suggest?
-Should we find a driver for Dubrovnik to Mostar, and use the same driver for Mostar to Sarajevo? If so, does the driver cover his/her own meals and hotel?
-Can anyone share names of drivers they used and liked?

Thanks!

I'm glad you've asked this question, as I was just about to post the same! We are doing a similar journey but plan to take the train from Mostar to Sarajevo. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone had any drivers they would recommend, just to get from Dubrovnik to Mostar. I've found some thru google like Balkan Chauffeur but was wondering if there were any specific companies people have had experience with that they liked.

Several years ago, traveling alone on a limited budget, I wanted to get from Dubrovnik to Mostar but did not want to pay for a private transfer. I sent emails to several companies that did small group day trips from Dubrovnik to Mostar and found one willing to transport my luggage for the day, and willing to let me get off the van in Mostar and not return to Dubrovnik with the group. I learned that not every small group tour was willing to let me not return with them. Yes, I was with a dozen other people in the large van, but that worked fine for me and my budget. I went with the group in Mostar to see several sites with their guide, then returned to the van, retrieved my luggage, and walked to my lovely room (one described in Rick's book for that region). I'm just sharing this as one more option.

Texas Travel Mom- thanks so much for that recommendation. When you used Tour Mage did they just take you from point A to point B or did they also stop off at sightseeing locations along the way?
