Just wanted to provide an input to this forum that Rick's recommended tour guide Yaz Elezovic in Mostar provided my wife and I with a wonderful and insightful walking tour of Mostar and we highly recommend him. Mostar was initially not on our itinerary when we first planned a trip to the Dalmation coast. Rick's guide book recommended Mostar as a day trip out of Dubrovnik and we were interested in understanding more about the last war and the perspectives of those who lived through it. We initially sought to hire Yaz's mom, Alma, but she was busy that day with other tours and we therefore hired Yaz via email before our departure from the US. However, it was delightful to meet Alma when we ran into her during our walking tour. As a 20-something, Yaz was only a few years old during the war but remembers it well and relates not only his own experiences with the ethnic tensions then through now, but also steps back and thoughtfully discussed with us (over lunch) his views on the larger perspective of why such wars happen and how they might be prevented in the future - to which end he described a very grass roots initiative that he and a few other friends started in Mostar that is now spreading worldwide via the power of social media. This initiative was simply creating a time and place for people to come together and share chocolate and donate it to humanitarian organizations - called Chocolution 2014 (google it!). It is not surprising that Yaz would undertake organizing such an event. He is extremely personable, well-spoken, has many friends in Mostar (judging from how many people he greeted while on our walking tour), and has a lifetime goal of fostering greater understanding among the peoples and cultures of his land and the world. Mostar is a place not to be missed if you are in the area and Yaz or Alma can provide you with a marvelous experience!
How did you connect with Yaz and Alma? Do you have their email?

I believe Alma was the guide in Mostar on the RS tour that I took in September. She was an outstanding guide, and I'd definitely recommend her tours for anyone visiting that area. I was wishing we had stayed another night.
