do you have a recommendation of best guide book(s) for Bosnia and for Albania?
Where are you going in Bosnia? The Rick Steves Croatia/Slovenia book covers Mostar and Sarajevo. I drove through Bosnia in 2015 and stopped in some other towns like Trebinje and Jajce that weren't covered there. I think I used the Bradt guide to Bosnia.

I was going to suggest checking Bradt--they tend to cover areas not covered by the other publishers. I always just check to see what is the most recent. Bradt covers both countries.
Depending on the length of the trip, Lonely Planet has a Western Balkans book that might be enough for you to cover both.
I am using the Bradt for Albania, as well. I will be there (hopefully) for a couple of weeks in May. I am also reading everything TA forums have, plus googling for blogs and videos.
Bosnia is on the plan for fall and I will know more about how I plan to combine it with Montenegro and Serbia in a couple of weeks. I will probably spend about 2 weeks each in BiH and Montenegro, with a week in Serbia in between. I don’t hurry.
During my trip, I used Lonely Planet Bosnia and Herzegovina, a well-known travel guide that covers the main cities and attractions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. You'll find information about Sarajevo, Mostar, Medurje, and other great places. And there is also this book about Albania
