I spent 5 days in 2 Balkan countries as part of a 16-day trip to Europe in May. It was a fast-paced visit that included 4 stops in 5 nights (Sarajevo, Lukomir [high altitude herding community], Mostar, Dubrovnik). Ema with Funky Tours was very helpful in putting the trip together. She helped with coordinating guides, transportation, and special experiences like dinner with 3 generations of a Bosnian family in their home. I was traveling with a 20-year-old, and she was also really good about pairing us with younger guides with whom the 20-year-old would be able to relate. Working with Ema was a pleasure, and I would highly recommend Funky Tours for 2-3 hour tours in Sarajevo, day trips, or more extended itineraries like mine. We had a top-notch, stress-free experience in the Balkans, which is due in large part to Ema and Funky Tours.
Need to look up Lukomir now! And the dinner sounds like a really neat experience. It sounds like a great trip! How did you move from city to city?
A nice video of one family's visit to Lukomir: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WUHSUukauM&list=LL5cx_MAIz9UVIY1BtefIkkw&index=97
We got from place to place via our guide/driver who was supplied by Funky Tours.
Thanks! And I just looked it up - and duh, had it bookmarked by the municipality (Konjic) instead of the village name). I should be there late Sept. Getting around by driver also.
