Has anyone done the private transfer via Mostar from Dubrovnik to Split. I have seen it on Trip Advisor I think it is with Portal Tours. We have limited time 3 nights in Dubrovnik and 3 in Split and thought this would be a great way to see Mostar otherwise we cannot get there. I have been told that Mostar is really worth a look. distance no problem I am from Australia!!!
I haven't done it but am looking to do the opposite myself in Sept (Split to Mostar to Dubrovnik). I have heard it could be easy by rental car & https://www.oryx-rent.hr/ is recommended as they don't charge a fee to take car across border. I checked prices & car rentals were ~30Euros/day & up. Note you need an int'l driver's license. (I got my info from this blog post on driving Split/Mostar for the day: http://wevemadeahugemistake.com/our-day-trip-from-split-to-mostar/ ). If you do this trip before Sept (whether driving or on a tour), please report back! :)
We are booked on the 12th September with Petar who works out of Dubrovnik and was recommended by the Rick Steves forum participants. He is picking us up in Dubrovnik and dropping us at Split. Will report back on my return to AUS. It was highly recommended by a friend of mine who did a day trip out of Split so really looking forward to it.
Is there a contact for Petar? We are looking to go from Mostar to Split.
We found it plenty fine to take the bus from Dubrovnik to Mostar, very comfortable, no worries, had plenty of time, stayed, overnight, then took the bus to Split the next morning. Obviously, even with a good hotel, much less than rushing through with a private driver.
If it were me, take a night off of Split and do that, much nicer than spending 6 hours on the road and a few hours in Mostar, otherwise, skip Mostar and do some sights near Split (Hvar or Trogir)
