Driving Split to Mostar

We will be driving from Split to Mostar June22nd. Which is the better road, from Prolog to Mostar or Metkovic to Mostar? How long would each route take? How long would the border crossing at Metkovic tipically take this time of year if we are there early morning (8:00)?
