Travel TV shows similar to RS Europe

My (early) teen and I have watched all RS Europe travel shows on Youtube (not the Art focused shows). And we really enjoyed the episodes. We started re-watching a few as I have hard time finding something similar that is family appropriate.

Have you come across other similar travel series especially for other parts of the world like Asia? Europe is fine too. Something more focused on travel and less on food. I enjoy the food shows (like Somebody feed Phil) but her interests are on travel/locations/festivals, etc.

We watched some episodes of “Departure” on Prime which was fine. Too adventuresome and a bit crazy but it was okay to watch.

Looking for something on cable TV, Youtube, Prime or Netflix (no Apple TV here).

Somewhat similar on youtube, the British tv series Italy Unpacked and Sicily Unpacked. Now I have to go watch them again!

Thanks. I will check that out. A friend mentioned “Samantha Brown Places to Love” so I may give it a try too.

I've watched "Traveling Robert" over the years. It's mostly focused on US travel using campers but there are some episodes on Europe. He does a great job narrating and it seems quite accurate. He is a very upbeat positive person that does a great job narrating his travel. I just watched an episode on Paris last night filmed in 2016. This is on U tube.

I'm really enjoying Sara & Paolo Adventures for Italy.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzCg0eojpKE (They are auto-dubbed, you can change the language to English in the upper right hand corner.) I tend to like specialized programing, like Ancient Rome Live (sorry, again about Italy) Alice Roberts (who just did a show called 'Ancient Rome by Train', first episode is on YouTube.) If you have PBS, consider watching the excellent 3-part series 'The New Dig'. Sorry, mostly educational rather than 'just' travel!

Just to say I am monitoring this topic and enjoying all the recommendations. I get a notification email when a reply is posted.
Thank you!

Check out Rudy Maxa's half-hour episodes. He's a bit more of a foodie and nicer hotel guy than Rick but has great information and visits places beyond the Rick Steves' itinerary. Also Joseph Rosendo's TravelScope.

Globetrekker--unless that falls into the too adventurous category. :)

I'm surprised no one mentioned Travel Man with Richard Ayouade. He's a deadpan comedian, and he does weekends away with other (mostly British) comedians. I don't think it's too adult, but your daughter might not enjoy the sarcasm. They do all the touristy stuff. Available on YouTube.

@G3rryCee - Travel Man wouldn't suit my child well - sarcasm is still hard for her to get it. But thanks for the suggestion.

There was a travel show on Public TV with a guy from Italy driving around in a small Italian Sports Car. He was showing off different areas of Italy. Can't remember the name though.

So many options! I may watch some on my own and others with the family. Thanks, all!
