I would add to Cameron's list these operetta movies made by Deutsche Grammophon in the 1960s and 1970s, and I have them all and love them. They are very well made and a joy to watch and listen to, as they will
immerse you to the feeling of the time and location. All have a symphony orchestra to accompany the singers. All available from Amazon.
WIENER BLUT (Johann Strauss), starring Rene Kollo, filmed in Vienna. Sung in German, English subtitles available.
DER ZIGEUNERBARON (Johann Strauss), starring Siegfrid Jerusalem, filmed in Hungary. Sung in German, English subtitles available.
DIE CSARDASFURSTIN (Emerich Kahlman), starring Rene Kollo, Anna Moffo, filmed in Hungary. Sung in German, English subtitles available.
DER ZAREWITSCH (Franz Lehar), starring Wieslaw Ochman, filmed in studios but outstanding scenes and sets make it feel like the Tzar's Russia. Sung in German, English subtitles available.
DAS LAND DES LÄCHELNS (Franz Lehar), starring Rene Kollo, filmed in studios but feels authentic Orient. Sung in German, subtitles in English available.
Then some non Deutsche Grammophon made movies, but still outstanding:
VIKTORIA UND IHR HUSSAR (Paul Abraham), a performance recorded at the Budapest Operetta Theater. Sung in Hungarian, subtitles available.
THE MERRY WIDOW (Franz Lehar), starring Joan Sutherland, performance recorded at the Sydney Opera House. Sung in English. My favorite Merry Widow performance, the gold standard!
