Travel board games

Well since we have time at home, I thought about getting a Travel or Europe Travel board game. My son has ticket to ride game and I saw they make a ticket to ride Europe. Has anyone played this game and what others do you like?

Bored at home ( some days). 🙂

Kim

Ps- did not know what topic to put this under.

Yes we own both. Ticket to Ride Europe is ok. We end up choosing the US/Canada version more often, but sure! The only other game I can think of thats international is Risk. We play a lot of board games but they tend to be fantasy-related (my favorite is Settlers of Catan)

We are big board game players, too. We have played our friends' Ticket to Ride games many times, but right after the shelter order and before non-essential stores closed, we bought our own TtR Europe from our locally-owned game store to show support for them. I think they closed their doors a couple of days later and have been doing some online comic book auctions and other things to stay afloat. Hopefully as things start to open back up here, they can resume without too much financial hardship.

Have you played Century: Spice Road? A combo resource collection and deck building game. Very fun.
We also like 7 Wonders a lot!

And of course Catan is everyone's fave - always on the list of best board games.
Fun thread!

And then there is the much-too-relevant Pandemic. Actually a pretty good simulation, but it takes awhile to learn how to play it. The next time we play, I'm going to start with an outbreak in China and with Disease Control centers already on the board in China and Atlanta.

Cala- I like that. Lol

Thanks for the great suggestions! I will have to check on some of those! Maybe I can find a next game when we can visit my son soon( he is to be married in July if we can get thru this virus)

Coincidentally, I just found this article about popular board games: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2020/04/the-best-board-games-to-play-with-your-quarantined-housemates/?utm_source=pocket-newtab

I love Ticket to Ride, I purchased the electronic version for my iPad and I've been playing it for years that way. You can play solo, on a local network, or online. I just do solo but it may be more fun for your son to play against others online.

I forgot to mention, the tablet version of Risk--it's called Conquest, and that's another of my favorites.

We have Ticket to Ride Europe. It’s fun, but not our favorite. We love the game Trekking the National Parks... not Europe, I know, but we love to visit our national parks, and it’s a game my husband, kids, and I all love to play.

We have both the book and board game Of “A Thousand Places to See Before I Die.” You travel around the world.

What about "London" ? You pick 6 cards with tube stations and then have to visit each station before the other players. Quite a fun way to learn how to navigate the tube.

I just wish they would update it with the changes to the lines and include the DLR and the overground lines.

our family enjoys Scotland Yard. It's a murder/detective game that takes place in London. You have to navigate the city by foot, by bus or by the tube. It would be fun to play before a trip to London.

You resurrected my post! Lol. Glad you did. I found the London game online and ordered it. Sounds fun!

Yes... we the trekking national parks too!

Thanks. Kim
