To interact with Irish people before your Ireland trip

FYI: If anyone is interested in engaging with Irish people (and people from the US and around the world,) you can tune in for free on Twitch to Radio Castledermot, Monday-Friday. It's evening for them - 7pm their time - afternoon most of the USA (they will also "spring forward", but their time change is not until March 29). They love to "talk" to new people in the chat and you can request songs. There are different DJ's (and a theme) each day and you'll get to know their personalities. As it is a local radio station, they often include local events and sometimes broadcast live during events (if you follow them on Twitch, the app will tell you when they're broadcasting). Many of the regular followers in the chat are right there in Castledermot Ireland, there are also people from Canada and several from the US. It's fun, and you can hear real Irish people, and pick up on modern customs and any slang. They're also on Facebook, and you can request songs and say hello on their FB page - Twitch has a more active chat group. Radio Castledermot is a small group of people who started RCD during the pandemic and have continued on with it; they are on about 2 hours.
