"The Five" by Hallie Rubenhold- The untold stories of Jack the Rippers Victims

This is a great book if you have an interest in life in Victorian London. It tells the life stories of Jack the Rippers victims. Shows them as people in their own right not just bit part players in their own deaths. For once this story is not about "Jack".
Really well researched and written I enjoyed the read, if enjoyed is the right word. If you are planning to take a Jack the Ripper tour or spend any time in the east end of London I highly recommend this book.

I have heard great things about this book and am very interested since staying near Smithfield Market last time I was in London. Thanks for the recommendation Emma!

Thank you for the recommendation, Emma. I took one of the Jack the Ripper tours once when in London and always wondered about the women's backstories.
