If anyone likes the Rough Guides, I was just on Amazon and they have a lot of their Snapshot books for very low prices (starting at 99 cents). They are all Kindle books, and most of them are older (2016 and 2017) but for $1 or 2, they come in handy.
Thanks Mardee. I love Rough Guides - might pick up a few of these minis for my iPad. Thanks !
Thanks, Mardee!
Kim, I love Rough Guides, too. Their descriptions are always very well-written and they go into such detail.
Sherry, you're welcome!
Thanks for the tip. I've had decidedly mixed results with this series, some are great, others less so (and I've wondered if the entire series is being discontinued?)...but for 99 cents, worth a shot for those far-flug/more obscure destinations not covered by more reliable guidebooks.
(and I've wondered if the entire series is being discontinued?)
I don't think they are. I emailed them recently to ask if a new Poland book was going to be published and they told me a new one is planned for Nov. 2024.
That's great news. I worry that printed travel guidebooks are an endangered species. The more publishers who continue releasing quality guidebooks, the better. (Said he with the overflowing bookcases...)
