Rome v London

Not a book recommendation but a quote that cracked me up:

Charles Dickens, writing in Pictures from Italy (1846):

When we were fully off again, we began, in a perfect fever, to strain our eyes for Rome; and when, after another mile or two, The Eternal City appeared, at length, in the distance; it looked like--I am half afraid to write the word--like LONDON!!!

I think must have left his spectacles at home. :-)

Actually a pretty darn funny quote!
