Not a book or movie, but relevant reading

For those who do not routinely check the " Travel News" section Under " Watch, Read, Listen" of this website, or are unaware of it, I commend in particular today's selections. There are two NYT articles, one on "sustainable travel" and one on the fires in Australia, with links to a separate article with a listing of relief efforts and organizations helping fire victims and the fire-fighters ( many of whom are volunteers). Hopefully therse are not behind a paywall, but I cannot tell as we subscribe.

There are others on travel with a disabled child, travel by train or freighter, Vegan restaurants in London, and something on new places to explore in the U.K. (None of which I have read yet, but I will. ). And that is just today.

Odd how often one can look at something and not 'see' it

Lola,
I also came upon the articles yesterday. So far I have read about the Australian fires, but will read the rest later. Especially heart wrenching since we were there in 2005. One of our favorite memories was Kangaroo Island. I heard a news story yesterday that the wildlife could become extinct. We are devastated. Appreciate the relevance of the articles!

The situation is Australia is indeed devastating, especially when you learn how many animals have died. Half a billion is hard to even begin to comprehend.
