Anyone interested in Germany or Ms Merkel and wanting a light easy read for a flight or long weekend should look into this book. It is translated from the original Germany and imagines Merkel, her husband Achim, their bodyguard and a pug named Putin moving to a small village for relaxation. Much like Murder She Wrote, Angela stumbles across a murder and decides to investigate it.
If you are looking for a PD James novel, this isn't it. But it's a breezy easy read with a nod and a wink to world leaders-Trump and Putin are named more than once and as is a certain electric car millionaire. I enjoyed it and having a knowledge of Merkel does help-like her love of black pants and blazers and her diplomacy. It's a nice escapism.
