Mrs. Harris goes to Paris a fun film

I saw this movie this afternoon and enjoyed it. Clean, funny, positive and mostly set in Paris. How could a person go wrong?

Happy to hear that, Carol! I read the story many years ago (in a Reader's Digest Condensed Book, I believe) and loved it. Will put the big-screen version on the must-see list!

Saw the trailer for it on July 4th (first movie we went to since covid - Downton Abbey) and can’t wait to see it. Glad to hear you liked it.

It's a remake of the 1992 Mrs 'Arris Goes to Paris, with Angela Lansbury in the title role. I'll be interested to see how the 2 films compare. The first one was lovely.

I'm familiar with the 1992 Angela Lansbury original . Paul Gallico wrote several Mrs. 'Arris novels ( The H is intentionally dropped , think Eliza's " ' Artford , 'Ereford , and 'Ampshire ) . If anyone is interested in another of Paul Gallico's work, have a look at this film of his story " Verna ; USO Girl " ( 1978 ) shown on PBS . Set in the last months of World War II, with Sissy Spacek , William Hurt , Howard DaSilva . and Sally Kellerman , this is a beautiful and moving tale . https://youtu.be/sQiIiZC28ok

Just saw this movie tonight and absolutely loved it. The audience clapped at the end. I didn’t see the Angela Lansbury version (i’m sure it’s very good) so i can’t compare them.
