More pasta on TV

There's never been a shortage, and now there's a new series about Italy and ... food of course. Sounds like a similar format to the others, apparently this Pasta Queen is quite the thing her show premieres today on Prime:

You can probably still find the Tucci series on a streamer, you might also check out an Italian/British woman named Alex Polizzi and her Secret Italy series, and then the British series Two Greedy Italians and a guy named Gino D'Acampo.

Thanks, Phred. I'm interested in the Secret Italy series and I'll look for the Pasta Queen.

I've seen most of the Tucci episodes either at my son's or on a plane. Wish they were on Prime.

Interesting note about a couple of people mentioned above:

Alex Polizzi's grandfather was Charles Forte, founder of Trusthouse Forte Hotels. She owns a couple of hotels in her own right. She also hosted a TV series in the UK called the "Hotel Inspector" where she tried to help failing hotels. (A la Gordon Ramsey with restaurants.)

On a note to RS tour fans, his Southern England tour spent a night at a hotel in Alfriston. Just prior to the pandemic, Polizzi bought the hotel and renovated it. The renovation was turned into a TV series.

Gino D'Acampo is a TV chef in the UK who has had a few series regarding travel and food in Italy.

Tucci is filming or has just finished filming a new series in Italy that will be seen on the National Geographic channel and co-produced by the BBC. No air date yet.

The Two Greedy Italians were Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo. Two well known chefs in the UK. Their series was filmed over 10 years ago. Carluccio has since passed away but Contaldo is probably best known as Jaime Oliver's mentor.

Lastly, Francsco de Mosto, a Venetian architect and author, hosted a few series for the BBC on Italy. Not as food oriented as the others but more about history, art and architecture. If you can find them on the internet they might be of interest to some.

Thanks for all the ideas, will add them to my list! Another excellent show is "Jamie Oliver Eats Italy", BEAUTIFUL scenery in the first episode on some islands off the coast of Sicily & the scene in the Roman market where the 2 nonnas almost come to blows with their wooden spoons is hilarious. And it's a great idea to stop and ask an older Italian woman what she's going to cook, you're likely to be treated with her recipe while wandering through the market. https://youtu.be/OPaGZ-Ypq7g?si=AYG90YJChabhifJF
