Monk TV Show on Sundance channel

I know this is off-beat but this episode is related to travel. The episode is “Mr. Monk and the Airplane”. He is a brilliant detective beset with many phobias, one of which is flying. His assistant/nurse tricks him into flying with her to New Jersey. Remember this is 2002 so don’t get hung up on the details.

At the airline check-in desk, he asks the agent what is the safety record of the plane. When told it wasn’t readily available, Mr. Monk said he would wait. Many people in line! Then he asks when was the plane last disinfected? Blank look from the agent. Hilarious to me because Monk is a man before his time! We in the age of Covid understand his concerns. Tuesday is Monk Marathon day on Sundance and I have recorded dozens of episodes which make me laugh out loud.
This show is helping lift my spirits everyday. A good laugh before I go to sleep at night helps me sleep more soundly. Laughter is good medicine.

His cleanliness phobias seemed outlandish at the time ... now maybe not so much. Mask, hand sanitizer, avoiding contact whenever possible.

Judy- Thanks for your recommendation. Tony Shalhoub is brilliant as Mr. Monk. It's been years since I've watched the episodes. Looking forward to revisiting the episodes. It's also available on Peacock.

Janis,
He is a brilliant actor, a role that could so easily have been mere slapstick. He also plays the part of the father of Midge in The Amazing Mrs. Maisel. Another comic role played to perfection.

Tony Shalhoub, another American born child of immigrants:

...the ninth of ten children, was born and raised in an
Arabic-speaking Maronite Christian family[1] in Green Bay,
Wisconsin.[2][3] His father, Joe, was from Lebanon and emigrated to
the United States as an orphan at the age of eight. He was a meat
peddler who drove a refrigerated truck.[4] Joe married Shalhoub's
mother, Helen (née Seroogy),[5] a second-generation Lebanese-American.

Janis,
Remember the beginning few episodes when Midge’s mother moved to Paris and Tony followed? They were so funny! I think I have a few episodes to catch up on in Season two. Adding it to my list.
