Just finished watching this incredibly well done series and can’t wait for season 2.
I would go so far as to say it should be required viewing prior to any trip to Versailles.

I'm glad to hear that there will be a 2nd season; though it will be sad for them for their fairytale to end. I can recommend "The Great" on HULU. It is about Catherine the Great and her husband Peter. It is done in a Farcical style. It is why everyone is saying "Huzzah!" The clothes are to die for!
I watched Marie Antoinette, don’t know how accurate it was, but basically the story. I didn’t love it, and know the history well, but i did enjoy the film locations, especially the Petit Trianon which is my favorite place at Versailles.
I highly recommend The Serpent Queen on Starz. The story of Catherine de Medici. Extremely well done and a fascinating story of her life and French history.
"The Empress" is about Empress Elisabeth of Austria, aka Sisi. Netflix has one season, with a notice that another season is coming. I don't know how accurate it all is but it's pretty entertaining and, again, the clothes are to die for!
For the history of the French Revolution mixed with a lot of humor, check out the French Revolution episodes on the YouTube channel Oversimplified.

Marie Antoinette is featured!
Kathleen, I absolutely adore The Great! Cannot wait for season 4. Elle Fanning really does a magnificent job.
Susan, I have only been to Versailles once and the Petit Trianon was the highlight for me as well.
Teresa, I also loved “The Empress”. PBS has a series by that name as well which I’ve book marked.
Dave, thanks for the link. I struggle to connect all the dots around the French Revolution but am fascinated by aspects of it. Will check that YouTube Chanel out. Simple is best :)
Where do you guys watch Marie Antoinette? I don't see it on my PBS.
