Thank you for posting. I LOVED Doc Martin and hope I can see this when it debuts.

I doubt they can replicate the special quirkiness of that show, but I'll be checking it out too (and I loved Josh Charles in Dead Poets Society so many years ago).
Did you know there was a version in Spain called Doctor Matteo? So now I have Cornwall as well as the coast of northern Spain (Lastres, Asturias) on my list. I wonder what the setting of this one will be--Maine?

I've watched Doc Martin for years. I'm not at all sure it would translate well into an Americanized version. We shall see.

We shall see, indeed. I still remember the American version of Coupling. Not good.

I’ll give it a try. The American version of The Office was great, so I will keep my fingers crossed on this one.

And I wandered in to complain about the decline of quality in the Doc Martin leather boots I used to like. :)

I agree with Eric: the US version of "Coupling" was quite bad. For every success (e.g., "The Office" and "All In the Family"), there have been many, many failures or, at the very least, mediocre remakes/reboots of UK series.

I liked Josh Charles in Sports Night, so I’ll give it a try. But I’m skeptical. I loved Martin Clunes and Caroline Catz.

If the new series is even half as good as its predecessor, it will be a delight to watch the story unfold.

Interesting, I have also been a fan of Doc Martin for many years, and I have my doubts that it will make a go of it set in the US, but I will take a look at it, just in case they get it right. Thanks for the heads up.

That happens in reverse too - the UK version of Golden Girls was pathetic
