Geoffrey Rush won an Oscar in 1996 for portraying a troubled genius in the movie Rush, and in 2017 the film industry took another crack at that topic by starring him as Alberto Giacometti in another biopic called Final Portrait.
It's about the artist's relationship with journalist and art critic James Lord (played by Armie Hammer), and it is set in Paris in 1964, where the Giacometti brothers shared a studio.
The movie is not what you'd call upbeat -- Giacometti says that he considers committing suicide every single day -- but the look of the film captures Paris in 1964 better than anything else that comes to my mind. The streets, the cafes, the hotels where Lord stays, the fashions, and so on.
And "Final Portrait" ties in to phred's post below because the movie was written and directed by Stanley Tucci.

In addition to the non-romanticized portrayal of Paris, I also like that the movie gives a little attention to the other brother, whose work does not get much showtime here in the USA.
