If you have the MHz streaming TV service, I highly recommend a wonderful Italian series called The War is Over. It's set in northern Italy immediately after WWII and is about a group of Jewish adults who take in children released from the concentration camps who no one claimed. The story is based on a real-life account by Aharon Megged called Story of the Selvino Children.
It's a very moving and entertaining 8-episode mini-series. The actor who played The Young Montalbano is one of the main characters.
Thank you for the recommendation! I will put it on the list to watch when we are finished with “The Good Karma Hospital”..
You mean there was a Montalbano before Luca Zingaretti?
Lola, not really before Luca Z. The Young Montalbano is a prequel series about Montalbano that was done in 2012 and 2015. It's pretty good, and fun to watch. But I like Luca as Montalbano much better.
Thank you for the suggestion. MHz Choice is a great network/streaming service that we get through Amazon Prime. Murder In is also an excellent series which features new French villages every episode. So, you get a murder mystery and gorgeous scenery at the same time.
Thanks for the recommendation for the French Murder In. I plan to go to France next spring, so this will be a nice show to watch! The French show The Art of Crime is also very good.

The name Montalbano is a homage to the Spanish writer Manuel Vázquez Montalbán;[6] the similarities between Montalban's Pepe Carvalho and Camilleri's fictional detective are noteworthy. Both writers make use of their protagonists' gastronomic preferences.

Read every book and watched every episode. I'll miss the show.
