"Don Matteo" DVD availability in US

I came across the Don Matteo Italian detective shows at my local library and really enjoyed them. This is a long-running TV series in Italy that started in the year 2000 and is still ongoing in Italy. However, the library only has DVDs up though Season 4, episode 8 available. I cannot find additional DVDs that will play on American machines to rent, purchase, or stream. I currently subscribe to the MHz Choice international service, but they don't have the rights to Don Matteo anymore.

I realize this is a long shot, but does anyone have any information about how I could find these episodes to watch or buy? I figure if anyone has any info on this, it's the RS Forum folks!

It doesn't appear to be streaming anywhere right now, but you can check reelgood.com periodically so you catch it when it pops up. I've found reelgood reasonably accurate about availability, but it's not perfect.

I watched a lot of Don Matteo and Inspector Montalbano to practice my Italian listening skills. At that time the shows were on a local TV station. Now they are locked up behind some pay scheme. Too bad.

Thanks, everyone, for the replies thus far. I'll check into the computer DVD player that will play discs from Region 2. Looks like there are a few DVDs available on Amazon Italy. Not sure how that works with delivery to the US...
I subscribe to MHz already, but Don Matteo does not come up when I search it, even though Amazon shows they have it - interesting. I've submitted a question to MHz about that.

Update on my post: Good news! MHz Choice just got the first season of Don Matteo and plans to roll out seasons 2-8 through February. Then, they will premier seasons 9-12 later this year. So, I'll eventually have access to the shows I haven't seen yet. Yay!
