Books set in Barcelona, Cannes/Nice, Pisa, Rome, or Switzerland

Hi all! I love reading books that are set in places I'm going to travel so I can get a feel before I go (especially those books that weave landmarks into the storyline). Fiction or nonfiction OK, historical fiction a plus! For example, I'm currently reading The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (set in Paris and Tours, France during WWII). Other books I've enjoyed have been Angels & Demons (set in Rome), The Light in the Ruins (set in WWII Italy countryside), etc.

We are going on a cruise and then spending a few days in Switzerland afterward (yes, I've already read Heidi, haha) so I'd appreciate any good books that you all have read!

Carlos Ruiz Zafon has written a couple of great books set in 1920s-1940s Barcelona, Shadow of the Wind and a prequel, The Angel's Game. Excellent writing, mysteries involving books, and very interesting reading.
