Books on Seville or Madrid

We'll be traveling to Seville and Madrid in a month and would be interested in a good novel of either of these places that gives you a "taste" of the area. Non fiction would be fine too.
Any recommendations?

If you like a good murder, The Blind Man of Seville (and the sequels) is great - nice and gory and has a lot of local colour. The series is by Robert Wilson.

Antony Beevor's history of the Civil War (called The Battle for Spain), is very worth reading if you have an interest in the topic - though not specific to Madrid or Seville, of course.
