Book set in Tuscany: Women in Sunlight

A friend shared this book with me. It is written by Frances Mayes who wrote Under the Tuscan Sun.

I read it after our trip to Italy and it conjured up great memories for us. Really enjoy all the examples of how Italian culture varies from US culture and how 3 single women "of a certain age" navigate it. I didn't find the ending very well put together, but I don't think it was the point of the book. The journey was more important than the ending. It goes well beyond the typical "no cappuccino after 11" differences.

I read the book last month and also enjoyed it very much!

I sure wish there was a sequel to it!

Borrowed the audio version from the library, and enjoyed it so much, I bought my own audio copy. Seems perfect for traveling — enough detail and interest to while away a long flight, but not hard to follow the story line again if I’m drowsy.

Thanks for mentioning this book. I wasn't aware of it although I have read Ms. Mayse's most recent book.. I just ordered it from our library and am so looking forward to reading it.

Just finished reading Women in Sunlight. Really enjoyed the relationships the ladies developed at home and in Italy. Agree that the ending didn’t satisfy but left room for a sequel. Their adventures brought back many memories of our travels in Italia. Hope to get back there soon. Thanks again for recommending this book.
