Book finding resources

Hi,

being a wannabe traveler that for personal reasons can't travel much I've always resorted to reading books and novels set around the world to bridge the gap (ever been to Prague thanks to Kundera? I definitely recommend that..). I'm looking for resources for getting books and inspirations.
At the moment I'm using http://www.verbavolant.world and the group Around the world on GoodReads. Any other option?

Thanks!
Laura

brainlynx, you're sitting right on a great source: this Forum! Click on "Our Tours," then choose a tour in an area you're interested in. Then on that tour page, click on "Pre-Tour Planning." Part way down the page you'll see a highlighted link "recommended books and movies."

Here's a link to the list for Belgium, for example: https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/belgium/books-movies

We've found some great books - fiction and nonfiction - and movies this way.

Happy reading!

Now, that's weird. I was writing my response while Laura was posting, and we both chose Belgium. Hmmm.. An omen?

Were going to Venice in Sept so I am, as I type this, watching Commisario Brunetti. It's based on books by Donna Leon, set in Venice, in German language, but subtitled in English......

Brainlynx/Laura, I wish I had something to offer. I find the RS lists not enough. I think what you have found so far looks great. I guess anyone who reads this should make a point of adding to resources on this site--

Jane, it must be something to do with the Edmonds-Sapulpa mind meld.
